Michael Salvietti – Lead Mavericks Index Review

October 29, 2026 Posted by Courses on Budget Editorial Team Marketing Posts
Michael Salvietti · Lead Mavericks Index Review 2026This Lead Mavericks Index Review takes apart what Michael Salvietti and his cold email partner Brendan actually teach: the funnel ladder behind the ads, a messenger magnet built from a blank page, the exact settings of a $5-a-day launch, the numbers behind the cold email sends and the files worth opening first. Every claim below comes from the lessons themselves. Brought to you by Courses On Budget.

The Big Idea: Context Beats Copy-Paste Strategy

Lead Mavericks is built on one rule that Michael Salvietti repeats until it sticks: “context is key.” A strategy that works at seven figures is wrong for someone with no clients, no proven funnel and five dollars a day. Most ad courses teach one ideal campaign; this one teaches which campaign fits your stage today.

His example is Alex Hormozi. Mike says the two learned Facebook ads together at a ten-person Las Vegas mastermind in 2013, and that Hormozi grew his gym business through ads, not content. Copying his content-heavy approach today, Mike argues, copies where he is now, not what got him there.

“The right strategy absent context is no longer the right strategy.” — 03 The Scaling Blueprint, Facebook Ad Overview module

The target is narrow on purpose: coaches, course creators, agencies, SaaS owners and service providers who close deals in a conversation. Every lesson chases the most qualified conversations for the least time, energy and money. That focus is the lens for this Lead Mavericks Index Review.

Editor’s comment: The stage-first framing is the course’s most useful idea. It lets a beginner skip VSLs, webinars and agency-style creative, and explains why the ad instructor tells level-one students to run cold email before spending on ads.

The Lead Mavericks Conversion Ladder as a Diagram

The whole Facebook side rests on one ladder of conversion mechanisms, ordered from the cheapest, easiest action to the most demanding. You climb it as your budget, proof and team grow:

1. Comment
on the ad
→
2. Message
click to Messenger
→
3. Lead form
inside Facebook
→
4. Web form
your own page
→
5. VSL / webinar
email to watch
→
6. Purchase
self-liquidating offer

Steps one and two stay on the platform and need almost no software; a comment is the cheapest action anyone can take. Each higher rung costs more per lead but brings stronger intent. At the top, a small paid product mainly covers ad spend and surfaces buyers to call.

Direct vs Indirect Offers in One Table

Every rung can carry one of two offer types. Mike prefers indirect offers when you start out because they build what he calls “pipeline equity”:

Trait Direct offer Indirect offer
What it is Book a call to solve a big problem A free resource that fixes one roadblock
Volume Lower Higher
Buying intent Higher commitment Lower commitment
Cost per lead Higher Lower
Typical format Power offer script, application Google Doc plus a Loom video

Two Objectives, Manual Builds, ABO Before CBO

About 90% of the program’s ads use two objectives: engagement and leads, always built manually. To test, use ad set budgets (ABO) so every audience and creative gets an equal share; switch to campaign budget optimization (CBO) once you know your winners. Mike’s example: a $50 CBO campaign might split itself $32.38 and $17.62 between two ad sets.

Worked Example: A Messenger Magnet for “My Cost Per Lead Is Too High”

The best teaching moment in Lead Mavericks is Mike building a real messenger magnet from nothing in under ten minutes. Follow the chain below and you can rebuild it for any niche.

Step Mike’s answer in the lesson
Current → desired Not enough money or customers → tons of money and customers
Circumstances keeping them stuck Not enough leads · leads unqualified or too expensive · no-shows · low closing rate
Split one into small problems Emails unopened, saturated lists, no replies, ads reach too few, no opt-ins, no engagement, cost per lead too high
What they try now Ads to lead forms or funnels with a direct offer
Why it fails No audience trust yet, and lead optimization on a cold audience is expensive
The solution and why it works A freebie plus an engagement ad: commenting is easier than a form, and engagement is cheaper than leads
Proof An e-com coaching client he says went from $30 to around $12 per booked call
Package and name Google Doc plus Loom walkthrough, called “Messenger Magnet Funnels”

The key move is row three. A situation like “not enough leads” is too big for a freebie, which is why most lead magnets feel vague. “My cost per lead is too high” can be fixed in a day, and fixing it reveals the bigger problem you sell on the call. Mike pastes the answers into a ChatGPT prompt from the course, moves the output into a Google Doc and records a Loom over it. His estimate for a student: 15–20 minutes.

How the Magnet Feeds the DM Conversation

Row two comes back in the DMs. The script never sends the resource right away, and never holds it hostage either: the doc is restricted, so you ask for the best email to grant access. Next you ask which of three scenarios fits them best, reusing those circumstances, and after three probing questions you pitch a 15-minute call.

“Anything that works organically pretty much works when you put money behind it, just to get more eyeballs on it.” — 2 Writing Messenger Magnet Posts, Facebook Foundation (Level 0) module

Editor’s comment: The eight-question chain works away from Facebook too. Run it once per problem and you get a cold email offer, a webinar topic and a sales-call agenda from the same notes. It’s the most reusable framework in the program.

Case Study: The $5-a-Day Comment-to-Messenger Launch

The comment-to-messenger playbook is the level-one campaign, shown click by click in ManyChat and Ads Manager. The build, in Mike’s order:

  • Inventory: one to five messenger magnets, one post each. Test magnets against each other, not creatives.
  • The decision you want: a split-second “why not?”, so heavy creative testing is just an excuse to delay.
  • Order of operations: publish the post organically first, link ManyChat to it, then turn it into an ad.
  • ManyChat trigger: a keyword such as “scaling”, first-level-comments-only switched off, several varied public replies so it looks human, comment likes on, and a three-minute smart delay before the first DM.
  • Campaign: manual engagement objective, auction bidding, ABO, one ad per ad set, daily budget only.
  • Budget: $1 per ad set, so five magnets run on $5 a day. Ads Manager estimated 88–255 people reached and 16–46 engagements a day at $1, which Mike calls optimistic.
  • Placements: Facebook and Instagram feeds only, since commenting only happens there.

The Layered Audience Recipe

Engagement ads have a low cost per thousand impressions, so you can afford a narrow cold audience that would be far too expensive for lead ads. The “fishbowl” approach matches anyone interested in any of several names. The “layered” approach, which Mike prefers, makes each layer a must-match.

His demo: interest in Robert Kiyosaki or entrepreneurship, must also match Brendon Burchard or Gary Vaynerchuk, must also be a business page admin. He aims for 50,000 to one million people, nearer the low end, and got this one under 100,000. He never uses lookalikes, since Facebook already does that work. Warm audiences use a 30-day window and 25% video views.

Brendan’s Cold Email Side: The Settings Behind the Sends

Brendan, who says he has used cold email tools for over 15 years, teaches this half. Recorded in September 2024, his launch lesson calls Instantly the best platform “by far” while allowing that other tools work. The settings he dials in:

Setting What the lesson uses
Campaign name Audience, copy version, date
Personalization First name, company, plus city and state as an extra touch
Step gaps Step two after 4 days, step three after 3 days (adjustable)
Sending window Mid-morning to early evening, worth testing
Inboxes As many as possible per campaign, auto-rotated
Time gap between emails 8 minutes plus a random 2
Auto-optimization Pick the winning variant by open rate

Why Spintax Keeps You Out of Spam

The AI Spintax Writer rewrites each part of your copy into variants, so one recipient sees “Hi”, another “Hello”, “Greetings” or “Good day”. Gmail and Outlook can spot an identical pattern, and once enough people mark that exact copy as spam, it gets filtered every time. Varied wording keeps the message while breaking the pattern.

His benchmark for a healthy run: 40–60% opens, about 7% clicks and 2% replies. If opens slide to 30, 25, then 20, cut volume, for example from 14 sends to 10, then 8, and hold.

“You could have the best audience and setup in the world if you’re just putting more volume in there too soon. You will guaranteed go to spam.” — How to Optimize Your Campaigns, Launching Campaigns module

From Lead Form to Signed Client

Higher rungs need qualification, and Lead Mavericks keeps it short. The lead form playbook uses BANT (budget, authority, need, timing) with one to three qualifying questions, because every extra question lowers conversion. For the demo offer, a free month of ad management, Mike trims ChatGPT’s suggestions to a budget question, one more qualifier and “What’s your website?”, since a weak site disqualifies. Answers are multiple choice, four options max, plus a privacy policy and a Zapier email alert.

The web form version puts the same questions into a Perspective funnel, one question at a time, opening with an easy yes/no. Two pixel events matter: the opt-in click fires a Lead, the thank-you page a Schedule. Optimize for leads first, since schedules need more data. Mike uses the Apply Now button on both because it signals intent.

Diagnose First, Then Prescribe

On the call, Mike’s CASE framework sells the way expensive lawyers and doctors do: diagnose, then prescribe. He admits he is “not naturally good” at traditional sales. His best tip is in the strategy step: list everything the prospect does not need, which saves them money and earns trust. For big decisions, call one gathers data and call two delivers the plan.

“To give someone a suggestion without the relevant data being collected is malpractice.” — 6 Call Closing Strategy, Facebook Foundation (Level 0) module

Editor’s comment: You get two closing styles in one course. Brendan’s cold email module is short and confidence-driven, with a 10–15 minute demo deck. Mike’s CASE method is slower and consultative. Mike himself points out the difference, and the honest takeaway is to choose the one that matches your personality.

Self-Test: Could You Launch on Monday?

Five questions, every answer taken from the lessons. Decide first, then click. Miss two or more and the course will save you real money on your first campaigns.

1. You’re testing three audiences. ABO or CBO?

ABO. Ad set budgets give each audience a fair, equal spend. CBO is for scaling once you already know the winners.

2. Why can a messenger magnet ad target a narrow cold audience?

Engagement ads have a low CPM, so a small, layered audience stays affordable. Lead-optimized ads to the same audience would be too expensive.

3. Someone comments for your freebie. What’s the first thing you ask in the DM?

Whether they still want it. Then you explain the doc is restricted and ask for the best email to grant access, which keeps the conversation going.

4. What’s the daily ceiling per cold email inbox?

About 50 emails, made up of 10–20 warmup and 30–40 live campaign emails. To grow, add domains and inboxes, not volume per inbox.

5. In the CASE strategy step, which list builds the most goodwill?

The list of things the prospect does not need. It saves them time and money right away and makes your recommendation feel custom.

What to Pair With Lead Mavericks

The program covers two channels at a working level. If one of them becomes your main engine, these catalog titles take it further:

  • More outbound systems: Nick Abraham — Outbound on Autopilot
  • A second cold email voice: Joe Troyer — Cold Email Masterclass
  • Deeper Messenger marketing: David Sambor & Philippe Lecoutre — Messenger Marketing Experts

✓ Pros
  • Strategy matched to revenue stage, not one-size-fits-all
  • Real launch settings: $1 ad sets, layered audiences, feed-only placements
  • A messenger magnet built live from a repeatable question chain
  • Clear cold email benchmarks and when to cut volume
  • Two closing styles to choose from
  • Low tool cost to start: ManyChat, free Calendly, a Zapier email alert
✗ Cons
  • Cold email lessons are short and lean on written notes
  • Mike notes Facebook changed its interface mid-recording
  • VSL, webinar and self-liquidating offers are explained but have no playbook
  • The page-population lesson is long for what it teaches
  • Many videos point to a community and copy audits outside the files

Lead Mavericks Index Review FAQ

Is Lead Mavericks a Facebook ads course or a cold email course?

Both. About 3h 43m covers Facebook ads, taught by Michael Salvietti, and about 1h 30m covers cold email, taught by Brendan. Both aim at booked sales conversations.

How small can my starting ad budget be?

The comment-to-messenger playbook runs at $1 per ad set, so five messenger magnets can launch on $5 a day. ManyChat Pro costs $15 a month after a 14-day trial, and Calendly can be the free plan.

Does it work for an online store?

Not as taught. The course says plainly that it is not an e-commerce strategy. It’s built for offers that close in a conversation, whether on Zoom, by phone or face to face.

What is a messenger magnet?

A free resource, usually a Google Doc with a Loom video, that solves one small problem in 10–20 minutes, can be used within 20–48 hours, and reveals a bigger problem you can help with on a call.

How is the course delivered?

Digital files. Crypto payment only. Fast delivery is handled manually after payment confirmation. Download links remain available for 7 days; save your files locally.

Final Verdict — Lead Mavericks Index Review 2026

Lead Mavericks earns its place by refusing to give everyone the same campaign. Michael Salvietti’s ladder tells you which rung to stand on, the messenger magnet chain gives you something worth commenting for, and the $5-a-day launch shows every setting you need to start conversations cheaply. Brendan’s cold email half adds the volume discipline that keeps those conversations out of spam. If you sell on a call and your calendar has gaps, this is a practical, budget-aware system to fill it.

Four Files to Open First

  • 03 The Scaling Blueprint (22m 57s) — the longest lesson. Find your revenue level first.
  • 1 Creating Messenger Magnets (9m 40s) — the live build from the worked example, plus the 30 post templates in the lesson after it.
  • 5 DM Strategies to Book a Call (14m 21s) — the full DM script, five response types and a text-replacement shortcut trick.
  • RAMP EXAMPLE SHEET (3m 18s) — pair it with the 10m 43s Instantly campaign build before your first live send.

One to skim: “6 Populate Your Pages” runs 21m 38s, mostly Mike filling a fresh page live with Canva graphics and ChatGPT posts. Useful if your page is empty. In the cold email half, keep the text notes open beside the short videos.

Michael Salvietti
Facebook ads strategist · co-creator of Lead Mavericks

“Mike” teaches the Facebook ads half of the program; his partner Brendan teaches cold email. Mike says he and his wife grew a steel construction company on Facebook ads, spending about $300,000 over 32 months for 775 customers, and that he has been making Facebook ad courses in various niches since 2016. He also says he runs ads for Brendan’s done-for-you agency, a client relationship that led to this partnership. Signature line: “I’m just not great at sales, but I’m good at consulting, coaching and diagnosing problems.”

  • Consultative selling from the source of CASE: Frank Kern — Advanced Consulting Class

Comparing ad courses? Our Nick Theriot Facebook Ads That Scale index review covers a different paid-traffic approach.
