Investors Underground Swing Trading Index Review: The Short Answer
Investors Underground Swing Trading is a process course, not a signal service. A full-time US equities trader — Michelle Koenig, known in the IU rooms as “Offshore Hunter” — explains how she finds, enters and exits multi-day stock swings, interviewed chapter by chapter by Investors Underground’s host. The course is unusually candid: it opens with the story of a trading account that more than doubled in three months and then collapsed below $10,000, and it closes with an hour of student questions about losing streaks and going full-time.
If you want to see the complete chapter list with runtimes, it is on the Investors Underground Swing Trading product page. Below, we focus on what the index does not tell you: how the method fits together, how a trade actually plays out and who should buy it. More reviews of this kind live in our trading posts section.

Inside the Files: Where the 6.5 Hours Actually Go
A file index lists titles. A runtime map shows priorities. Almost half of the course sits in three chapters — technical analysis, the live trading strategy and the Q&A — which tells you this is a “how I actually do it” course rather than a pattern encyclopedia.

Our suggested viewing path
1
Chapter 1, then jump to Chapter 7 — see the trader and her finished process first, so the theory has context
2
Chapters 3–6 with a chart open — pause on every pattern and draw the measured-move target yourself
3
Chapter 8 last — the Q&A answers the questions you will have after a week of paper trading
How the Method Works: From Daily Pattern to 60-Minute Trigger
Every trade in the course follows the same five-step loop. The daily chart tells you what to trade, the 60-minute chart tells you when, and a hard stop at a technical level tells you when you are wrong.
The swing trade loop taught in Chapter 7
Scan
100–300 charts by eye: watchlists + Finviz
→
Daily pattern
flag, triangle, cup, wedge, H&S
→
60-min trigger
price moves above the 50 EMA
→
Confirm
break “by price, not by time” with volume
→
Manage
hard stop, raise it, exit at levels
Her one-setup answer: “it would be off the 60 minute chart using the 50 period exponential moving average.”
Why the “trend change” matters
Most swing traders enter on the daily breakout and give back the move on the first pullback. Here the daily pattern is only the watchlist filter. The entry waits for price to cross from below to above the 60-minute 50 EMA, confirmed by MACD and stochastics — and the break must come from “a nice white candle with volume,” not from price drifting sideways through a trendline.
Indicators that switch on and off
Chapter 3 is the most transferable lesson in the course: oscillators (stochastics, RSI) work in ranges but “stay overbought/oversold” in trends, while MACD and moving averages work in trends but whipsaw in chop. That one distinction explains why so many indicator-based systems work for a month and then stop.
Case Study: Two Real Short Trades, Two Different Outcomes
The most valuable minutes in Chapter 7 are the side-by-side trades. We reconstructed two shorts from the transcript to show how the same rules produce a win and a disciplined loss.
📊 Case study — NFLX short vs WUBA bear-flag short (Chapter 7)
| Setup |
NFLX: short from a $378 area after the daily chart rolled over. WUBA: a daily bear flag. |
| Entry |
NFLX: around $378. WUBA: $38.95 on the flag break. |
| Stop |
Hard stop set right after entry at a technical level. WUBA stop: $40.10. |
| Exit |
NFLX covered near $344–345 — roughly a $33 move in about 10 trading days. WUBA: stopped out at $40.10. |
| Lesson |
The winner was held because the structure stayed intact; the loser was cut at the pre-planned level instead of being “hoped” back. “Hope is not a strategy.” |
Numbers as stated in the lesson; they illustrate the process and are not typical or promised results. She also shows a failed ISIS short entered before full overbought confirmation.

Being wrong is part of trading. The question is… how long are you going to stay wrong?
— Chapter 1, Introduction

If you’re having to look too hard to identify a specific pattern… it’s probably not there.

I am not going to trip over dollars trying to save nickels in my trading.

Quick Test: Could You Trade This Method Tomorrow?
🧠 3-question knowledge check
Answer in your head first, then tap a question to check. All answers come from the course lessons.
Q1. What is the measured-move target of a bull flag?
Answer: The length of the pole added to the breakout point. Targets are treated as guides, with no promised timeframe.
Q2. On which chart and indicator is the entry timed?
Answer: The 60-minute chart, using the 50-period exponential moving average — a “trend change” is price moving from below to above it.
Q3. A stock is consolidating sideways under resistance. Do you buy now?
Answer: No. Consolidation is “a period of time to be watching the chart, but not somewhere that I’m interested in parking my money.” Wait for the break by price, with volume.

Investors Underground Swing Trading Index Review: FAQ
How was this Investors Underground Swing Trading Index Review made?
We worked from the course files themselves: the full folder index, file sizes, lesson runtimes and transcripts of the 8 chapters. No sales-page claims were used, and income claims made in the lessons are deliberately left out.
Is Investors Underground Swing Trading good for beginners?
Yes for motivated beginners: Chapters 2 and 3 cover chart types, moving averages, MACD, RSI, stochastics and volume before any setups are taught.
How long are trades held?
From overnight to several weeks, occasionally a month or two. Trading-range swings typically last two to four weeks.
Does the course include alerts or a chat room?
No. It is a recorded video course; the trader explicitly refuses to post entries and exits for students to copy.
What do I get after purchase?
Digital files. Crypto payment only. Fast delivery is handled manually after payment confirmation. Download links remain available for 7 days; save your files locally.
Final Verdict — Investors Underground Swing Trading Index Review 2026
Investors Underground Swing Trading earns its place in a swing trader’s library because it teaches one complete loop — scan, daily pattern, 60-minute trigger, hard stop, level-based exit — and then proves it with both a winning and a losing trade. The examples are old, but the logic of measured moves, trend-versus-range indicators and breaks “by price, not by time” has not aged.
