What is WIM Tea Gueci My Secret Sveshnikov The Sicilian by A Sicilian for Cheap?
The Sveshnikov Is Your New Secret Weapon
If you want a real fight with the black pieces, the Sicilian is always going to be one of the best options. The Sveshnikov variation is WIM Tea Gueci’s secret weapon, and in this course, she’ll show you how to deploy it to maximum effect.
Inspired by Magnus Carlsen’s use of the Sveshnikov in his 2018 World Championship match, WIM Gueci has been playing it ever since. This repertoire is the perfect introduction to the Sicilian, and it’s less theoretically demanding than the Najdorf or Dragon – whilst still packing a real punch.

The starting position of the Sveshnikov. You’ll more than make up for the weak d5 and d6 squares with incredible piece activity and aggressive play

…Rxb2! Boom!
Of course there’s still plenty of theory to learn, but WIM Gueci focuses on explaining the unique plans and ideas that the Sveshnikov structure leads to. You’ll learn how to fight for the d5 square and when to cede control of it. You’ll understand why the d6 pawn isn’t always necessarily a big weakness. And you’ll often exploit the bishop pair to devastating effect.
By adding the Sveshnikov to your repertoire, you’ll be following in the footsteps of Magnus Carlsen, Boris Gelfand and Indian superstar Dommaraju Gukesh, along with a host of top GMs over the last 20 years.

Gukesh achieved this dream setup in his 2023 World Cup game against Iskandarov

An early …f5 is often the response to passive moves by White. It’s time to seize the initiative!
